Family Business Ownership Meetings
This page has an agenda for a 2-hour monthly ownership meeting and a One-Day strategic ownership meeting.
Monthly ownership meeting - 2 hours ideally not at the business or anyone’s home
· Start on time
· Warm up – each person shares:
• Something they appreciate that the person to their right has done in the last month
• What they want from the meeting today
· Review your 90-day goals - everyone reports if they are on track or off track (if not, add to the list of things to be discussed)
· Review to-do list since the last monthly meeting - are to-dos done or not done (if not done, add to the list of things to be discussed)
· Discuss what needs to be discussed
• Start with the most important items and move to the least important
• If financials need to reviewed, do so (avoid the desire to spend all of your time on this)
· Make sure everyone knows what their to-dos are
· Make sure there is a plan to share any decisions you made in this meeting
· Make sure everyone is clear when the next meeting is
· Rate the meeting 1-10
· End on time

Are the guiding principles still true?
Is this still your legacy?
Is this still where you want to be in 10 years
Is your ownership philosophy still true?
Is your plan still the right plan?
• Answer this question “what else do you need to solve for all of this to be true?” Put those items on the list of things to be discussed

• Create your next set of 90-day goals (make sure they are specific and attainable and one person owns each one)
